Phase #3: Into the Future

And another Loshenka Makeover Event has come to an end. Saanvi has been doing spectacularly. The flashy striped mare never did regain sight in her right eye but her left eye has full sight and my veterinarian will continue to keep a close eye on her condition. 

With lots of reassurance and patience we’ve come a long way! From the frightened and reactive mare hiding in the totally blacked out dirty stall to the now gentle and willing horse that loves to go out and be ridden and explore her world with enthusiasm. She’s even made a few friends! Her and two of my previous Loshenka Makeover mares, Copper and Socks, are pasturemates and they’ve really helped Saanvi come out of her shell even more.

I’ve discovered that Saanvi has a unique aptitude towards English equitation and dressage. Unfortunately that is not a discipline I am very much involved in as I prefer western disciplines as well as a couple cross country mounts. So I am a little unsure of Saanvi’s future as to whether or not I will be finding her a new home or finding her a job within my facility, but you never know. She’s a special girl and I’d hate for her to end up in a situation like she was before we found each other… I’m just so grateful I was able to help another Loshenka because of this event so that they get another chance at a good life.
