Phase 2 - Life Goes On

- Description: Loves to slowly drift toward the arena gate during rides, casually acting like it’s part of the training. When the behaviour is ignored, they will eventually just stop at the gate and pretend the ride is over. On trail rides this stubborn Loshenka will refuse to move or start backing toward home..

And now, time for Ezekiel to actually work with his new horse.  With his mentor's assistance, he is going to help 11084. I did some research on dealing with barn-sour horses, as that seemed the closest IRL analog to this issue; a lot of the suggestions were to make sure his time outside the barn was positive, so I focused on that for my art. Another focus in the art was to show that these things take time, which is displayed through the passing of seasons in the panels. Here Ezekiel slowly works with 11084, taking him out on the trail to just explore around rather than riding him or working hard. And in response, 11084 learns, until by the last panel he can actually be ridden on the trail without backing away. 

 

Again, panels are labelled on the top left of each - except panel 5 which is labelled on the top right because I'm allergic to consistency apparently. 

Panel 1 shows 11084 stopping by the gate of the arena, pretending that the training is over. I'm not awarding any xp for this panel as it just shows feet and sand. 

Panel 2 shows Zeke trying to work the horse in a arena, to mixed success, while is mentor helps. 

Panel 3 shows Zeke taking 11084 out on a walk in the trail in summer, letting the horse take its time to explore - in this case, meeting a turtle while getting a drink at a stream. 

Panel 4 shows Zeke taking 11084 on another walk, this time saddled up, in the fall. Again, going slow, giving 11084 time to glance aside at an owl. 

Panel 5 shows Zeke and his mentor taking a trail ride together in the wintertime, with Zeke finally riding 11084 and his mentor riding her generic draft horse.
