Their Day

And even with all the horses who live here, these three always seem to end up spending most days together.

Solimar, despite not having all that much interest in interacting with other horses, still plays with those two almost everyday and, if they’re not playing, she's usually quietly following of them around or, althoug rare, grazing or exploring around with other friends if her "shadows" didn't scare them away.

Magnífico, in all his silliness, can’t help but bother the other two - poor dude isn’t aware he’s being inconvenient… He’s a happy child who thinks it is play time if anyone near him moves even an inch or looks his way for too long.

As for Blesk, his humor goes bad very quickly and he prefers to spend his time on his own or with Solimar. Only Solimar. NO Magnífico… Still, he plays and hangs out with both of them and, well, although he’d rather no one knows (but everyone knows), he secretly adores those both equally.

So today, as usual, they ran, jumped and kicked around the meadow. Some of the other horses joined them and had some fun too before being driven away by Blesk’s sour personality and harsh kicks… As they frolicked around, having other friends join and leave as time went by, the sun climbed higher and higher up the sky and the trio naturally moved on to their next adventure.

And for their next stop, the nearby treeline seems, as always, tempting. Even if they go in there every single day, it still hides so many possibilities, so many secrets! Solimar, ever confidentl, led the way. Not much of an actual "follow me! Let's check this out!" though. Blesk and Magnifíco just act as little keychains sometimes and follow after her no matter where she goes, sometimes she desn't even notice they're coming along. As she glided through the grass, right behind her comes Blesk... and Magnífico, bouncing along like a child, zigzagging around poor Blesk, who trotted along with a scowl.

The forest welcomed them with a cool embrace, contrasting the hot sun they played under earlier. As they went deeper and deeper in the forest, stopping to graze, drink or play around every now and then, the three were surrounded by nothing but the calm and soft hush of the leaves above them but suddenly it was broken by a small noise coming from inside a hollow log laying on the ground.

Solimar and Blesk stared at it curiously as something moved and scratched inside but followed the very common sense of not shoving their faces on mysterious hollow logs making noise and were about to keep walking… BUT! Our dear Magnífico has no survival instincts at all and did exactly that.

As soon as his face went into the log, he flinched and pulled back. And well, attached to his face was something?? A terrified and traumatized raccoon hugged his face and didn’t really seem to have plans of letting go. As Magnífico stood there, blinded by the furry critter stuck on his face, a baffled Solimar approached him and began to nudge the little raccoon to get it to let go as Blesk heavily judged them from afar.

And why judge “them” you may ask. Why not judge only the silly one? Well, if it was up to Blesk, Magnífico would spend the rest of his life with that raccoon mask and Solimar was wasting precious time that could be used to walk away and get rid of Magnífico but instead there she was, helping him get it off. Blesk moved on ahead without them, his ears pinned back, his patience clearly wearing thin, trotting away and even angrily kicking the air a few times.

Not long after, the other two caught up to him and they continued deeper into the forest. Solimar would quietly look around with curiosity, moving beautifully as she investigated the trees and sounds around them, stopping to check flowers whenever she came by one or stopping to get Magnífico out of whatever trouble he got himself into. Meanwhile, Magnifico dashed from tree to tree,  still poking his nose into every hollow and snooping at any birds’ nests he could reach and any other critters’ houses he could find. Blesk, still vigilant and at this point very tired of his companions’ antics, remained on edge, his sharp eyes scanned any and every shadow for any sign of danger as he mapped this new area of the forest in his mind.

And so, by the time the sun began to set, the trio had made their way back to the meadow, joining the rest of the horses. As they calmed down after their adventures, they were eventually covered by the darkness and moonlight. By now, everything was quiet and calm.

Solimar grazed near her other friends who she couldn’t hang out much with earlier because of Magnífico's incessant frolic and Blesk fighting them off. Magnífico was blacked out on the ground somewhere, probably in a mud pud. And Blesk stood watch far, far away from the rest of the herd,  which made every horse believe he was trying too make sure no danger came close but it was really just so he could get some peace of mind and much needed time alone - as if he didn't follow them around on his own free will...
