[Gift] Drawlloween [Short story 2] - SQUEAK!

But we seemingly escaped. I certainly couldn't hear the steps anymore. Being followed was absolutely terrifying and I just want to find a damn exit.

"Let's see where we can get out!" I whispered. "And be quiet! We don't want that thing to find us!" "Which thing?" "The...the- WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHICH THING ?! The thing we JUST ran away from!!!!!" "Ouh- ...yea"

We're tiptoeing down the hall; old pictures on the walls; a dirty, dusty old rug beneath our hooves; as I suddenly hear a squeaking. "Careful! The floorboards are loud, I think." ...another squeak "Charles watch where you're stepping, we need to be quiet!!" I whispered, more irritated. "The floor isn't making noise tho..." ...another squeak

Sweat started forming on my forehead again; whats this sound following us, then? Was it the next thing trying to kill us??

I stopped in my step and listened more closely; where's this coming from ?!

....squeak RIGHT BEHIND ME!

I jump and speed down the hallway; around the corner and down the next long corridor. THE SQUEAKING IS FOLLOWING ME AND IT'S GETTING FASTER !!

...squeak squeak squeak squeak!!!

With tears of fear in my eyes, I cut the next corner and BOOM; right into a wall. And of course BOOM, Charles right into my back. The impact hurt and his stupid hard head crashed right into mine. It's dark, and my eyes are still blurry; but I turn and look at him angrily. "It wasn't my fault! I thought you knew where you're going!" "Urgh... sure" He's way too close to me and I hate it, so I try to wiggle away from Charles and get up. The squeaking is gone and everything is silent; "What are you doing?" "Sssh! I'm trying to listen for the noise." I look at him; "Wait a minute- why are you mumbling so strangely?" "Ouh, I'm just chewing on Bob". I frown and wait for more clarification- "it helps my anxiety, you know?" He opens his mouth and a yellow rubber ducky stares right back at me. Charles bites down on it and....."squeak!" "...you're fucking kidding me -_-" "Do you wanna try ?" "WHAT ?! NO! EW!" "No its oki i think you need it more than me. I saw your tears. Poor Asti!"
