Decorated Haybales

I nod slowly, sighing deeply and then looking over at Namir who talked silently with Müsli. Astoria catched my look, smiling at me and then turning around to look at the lights. "Do we go.. to look at whats going on there?" Arctic asked, looking around unsure of what to do next. Khaos ripped himself away from staring at the forest and started to walk in the direction, answering Arctic with a simple "Yes." I nod as well, walking next to Arctic and Namir. Astoria trotted around us, sniffing the ground and looking at some of the haybales we came across. "Hey guys! Look at this, the haybales are decorated!" She said suddently. I look over, saying very unimpressed "That is not the biggest concern right now we have." "It's Halloween, they probably... well.. decorated them" Namir said. All haybales on this field were decorated with (fake bc we dont want a wildfire no no) candles, pumpkins, ghost cutouts, and other cutesy little crafts. Müsli curiously trotted to one, sniffing the ghosts who were made out of white blankets on sticks. "Careful, we dont want you getting scared!" Said Arctic grinning. "We can play around when we are home. Come on guys!" I hurry, wanting to get closer to the lights. "What do you think this is?" Namir asked into the round, looking at the strange lights. "I dont actually know... it does not look like its really a farm or stable," said Khaos, sighing and yawning. The night was very very long already, with no end in sight. "Maybe it's a Halloween Party?" offered Astoria her idea. I nod, it seemed like the most plausable idea. "But it is strange that its just.. out here, in the middle of nowhere!" Müsli said, while trotting slalom around the festively decorated haybales. Watching him, mostly to find out if he would indeed spook at the ghosts, i nod. "That indeed is strange." Agreed Khaos as well. "Well, we should just find out I guess" Namir said, looking at the next haybale, which was decorated in a black cat theme, with hat ears build on it out of hay, and two cat statues standing next to it. "At least they are creative huh?" I guess that was indeed true. Khaos just shook his head at all those decorated haybales, walking with us through the field, getting closer to the - presumably - Halloween Party in front of us. "I hope they can help us. I wonder how far away from home we are" Astoria said. Khaos and I were more in the back, looking at each other. We both knew that this whole thing was too weird to just.. end like this. "Don't look that pessimistic!" Arctic shot at me and Khaos, trotting with a high rised tail around the next haybale which was decorated with many sparkly lights and some mini-ghosts pinned to it, probably trying to come across as motivating. Müsli looked at us scared, muttering "B.. b.. but we.. we will... we will get back ... home right?!" I sigh and nod quickly, and Astoria answered "Yes, yes of course Müsli! Don't be scared. We will ask whoever we find there, and then we find a way to home!" Khaos nodded, probably mostly to calm the others, especially because of Namir who looked very annoyed. "I should have never came here!" He muttered under his breath, kicking out at one of the sparkly haybales which in result made a pumpkin fall down- which scared the shit out of Müsli who spooked and bolted away with a few strong jumps. "Müsli!! Müsli it was just a pumpkin, everything is okay!!" Astoria yells after him, sighing. "How does he even survive?" Arctic asked silently, with the other ones just switching looks with each other, some grinning, but all keeping silent. Müsli then trotted back to us after a minute, looking a tad ashamed. "Those pumpkins are way scarier flying.. ya know..?" He looked at us hopeful, and I couldnt resist to say "Yes, they absolutely are." He beamed at me with a big, grateful smile. Astoria grinned, and made her way over to one of the last haybales, it was full of spiderwebs and plastic spiders. "I don't like that one" Arctic muttered, doing a big round around it. Khaos sniffed the spiders with a slight interest, and then trotting over with the others. The Party location was now literally in front of us, with just one more haybale being between us and the area. It was loud and chaotic, and we couldn't really tell that well what exactly it was. "Do you really think its such a good idea to... go in there?" Namir asked, looking with piercing eyes at Khaos, who walked past the last haybale right now. That haybale was full with cutouts showing brooms and witches on brooms, and witches hats and black cats. A bit repetitive and too stereotypical in my opinion. "Well, I do not know if it is a good Idea, Namir, but it is the only one we have if I recall correctly. Do you have another Idea to present to us?" Khaos asked simply, walking over to the huge entry-gate of the light filled area. Namir huffed something but did in fact not present a better Idea. "I like this one!" Astoria sniffed at the last witch-haybale, looking at the cats and brooms very intently. "It looks fun!" Agreed Arctic, and I shush them over to Khaos, who already had opened the gate for us. "Come, all, you too Müsli! And don't bolt at the lights please, I know they are moving!" I warn Müsli, who mumbled something sounding like "I will try my best".

Drawlloween Promt - Decorated Haybales
Part 18 of the Story "The Fate of the 6"

Once there was a legend, of the Fate of the 6. It was a creepy myth that never got told out loud, as everyone feared bad luck when talking about it openly. It was just a faint whisper in the shadows, scribbled in old notebooks, lingering in the back of people’s heads. Nobody ever dared to bring it closer to reality, to make more out of it than it was: just an old, faint whisper. But what happens when 6 friends are at the wrong time at the wrong place? I fear we will find out very soon...
