[Prompt 19] Strange Doctor in a Strange Land
It had only been a few days since she'd been brought to this hot and dusty place, but already she'd been washed down, brushed out, and given a well-shaded paddock to enjoy, empty though it was. The trees here were strange and acrid smelling, and they tasted just as bad. The grass was also dry, but at least the half-feline man who had taken her in left out plenty of feed and water. And the cows here that she’d seen over the fence, they were bizarre things. Short pale coats, large humps on their shoulders, and a constantly sad expression as their skin tugged down to their large dewlaps. They were at least polite when she stood at the fenceline to greet them.
Today though, he was slipping through the fence with a halter in hand, calling her over as he walked over to meet her halfway. His legs were clearly that of the snow leopards in the mountains south of her birthplace, a large fluffy tail swaying behind him, yet his upper half was obviously a human, even if his nose was almost feline and his wild hair was the same colour as his fur. "Hey there Lady, there's a good girl," he hums, reaching up to pet her nose as she sniffs his strangely patterned shirt. He'd had apple slices in his pocket last time... "Heh, you'll get some treats later. C'mon, we gotta get you to your appointment."
Appointment? What was that? Was it some kind of cow they hadn’t shown her yet? Bowing her head as he moves to slip the halter on, as she’d been trained, she's soon being led towards the gate at the corner of her paddock. "We've never had a Loshenka here before, so we gotta make sure you're still healthy after all that travel, y'know?" the man continues to talk, not that she could really understand him. This place wasn’t anything like the cold lands of her birth, after all. It was especially brown and yellow in comparison to the memories of lush green grass…
Soon enough they enter the stable where she'd spent her first few nights, the concrete floor causing her hoofsteps to echo around the brick building. "Here she is," the man speaks up, seeming to be talking to... WHAT WAS THAT THING?! It was awful! Ghoulish! A nightmare made living! Why were there bolts in its neck? Stitches on its skin? Ratty and tattered clothing?!

Staring at the spooked and frozen horse in confusion, Alb turns to look at the vet with a confused look... before laughing heartily. "I think your costume scared her!"
The vet, a younger man by the name of Elijah, who had been convinced to wear a stupid outfit of Frankenstein’s monster by his younger sisters, glowers at the laughing cat-man. "Shut up before I kick your furry ass outta here."
